HMHS Britannic (Kea Island, Greece — 385 fsw)

Background The HMHS Britannic is, according to many, the pinnacle of wreck diving. I have always dreamt of diving the wreck but it was always "out of reach" for many different reasons. Until now. Some people have compared diving the Britannic to climbing the infamous Mt Everest. I would liken it more to scaling the [...]

Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones.

Cessna 414 N414BA was listed as "missing" for 3 months after the crash on 8 Jun 2025 and it is now found as of 16 Sep 2025. We have located and positively identified the wreck and have been in contact with the USCG, NTSB, and the family of the four that perished along with the pilot and his wife.

It has been a week filled with mixed emotions for all of us. Hug your loved ones.

Another epic wreck with Mevagh diving in Malin Hea Another epic wreck with Mevagh diving in Malin Head. I think we were the fourth team to dive the amazing submarine wreck of the HMS D6. She has a bunch of firsts including (I think) the first submarine sunk in a sub-on-sub battle.

ICYMI, I recently wrote about my trip to Okinawa, ICYMI, I recently wrote about my trip to Okinawa, Japan to create a hi-fidelity photogrammetry model of the USS Emmons.

Information about the model and the trip are posted at:

I made this poster size version of the model with photos for the USS Emmons Association. I could not have done this project without the help of Kurt Reese.

Some hot takes from the A.C.E. wreck dive yesterda Some hot takes from the A.C.E. wreck dive yesterday in Dana Point on the Riviera. Nice conditions for sure. It has been hit-and-miss lately. Ton of sea life on the wreck. Not as many nesting sculpin as in previous dives (I’m guessing it is seasonal), but a ton of other fish.

For more information on the A.C.E. and if you are planning to dive it, I’ve created a detailed photogrammetry model:

ICYMI, on Nov 7th we successfully dove the USCGC M ICYMI, on Nov 7th we successfully dove the USCGC McCulloch which sank off Point Conception in 1917. The dive team consisted of DJ Mansfield, Mike Wynd, and myself on board the D/V Triton with Danny Graham and Joe Honsey.

I’ve kept it mostly secret, but it has been been at the top of my “to do” list for the past 3+ years. It is almost impossible to get a weather window and dive team and dive boat to all line up to do this 300 foot dive. That happened on November 7th, 2024.

I’m confident that we are the first dive team to visit the wreck (there has only been ROVs on the wreck until now).

The complete story of the McCulloch, the wreck, the planning that went into it, and wreck photographs are posted at:

https://wreckedinmyrevo.com/2024/11/13/uscgc-mcculloch-point-conception-ca-300-fsw/

It was an amazing dive.

Trident Missile Tower Photogrammetry Model! Anoth Trident Missile Tower Photogrammetry Model!

Another local SoCal project completed. This one has been on the list for a couple years.

Drew Wilson and I dove the Missile Tower (near the US/Mexico border) with Chris & Lora at Marissa Charters. I had been wanting to build a photogrammetry model of the site for quite some time. My first attempt was in 2021 before I really had enough experience with photogrammetry.

We spent about 45 minutes on the structure and had a little less than an hour of decompression.

The project came out pretty well - especially given the obstacles — fish & metridiums! You can see the massive amount of white metridiums in the model. They are beautiful but they can move slightly in current and when they cover large portions of the structure, it makes it very, very challenging to find areas for photo alignment for the model.

All of the details along with some great photos from Drew is posted at:

A few quick photos from Saturday's dive on the Yuk A few quick photos from Saturday's dive on the Yukon aboard the Marissa. There was a particularly aggressive Sheepshead near the bow guns. The primary purpose of my dive was to test a few things but I ended up taking a couple photos while I was on the wreck. Don't ask me why they put an American flag on a Canadian destroyer. ;)
We were out on the Marissa diving the USS Hogan on We were out on the Marissa diving the USS Hogan on Sunday and we had some pretty good vis and a TON of fish. Just a few quick photos from the dive.
