I’ve just published my first post about the diving I’ve just published my first post about the diving in Vanuatu. It is a “Mystery Corsair” that we haven’t been able to identify. Local rumor had it as a New Zealand Royal Air Force plane but I don’t think that is right. Given the location, I believe it belonged to Fighter Field #1 which means USMC. Epic new version of the PBM Mariner wreck off Poin Epic new version of the PBM Mariner wreck off Point Loma. I wanted a better version of the model for the upcoming book so we went back out to the wreck. There were a few challenges, but the model came out very good. I’ve been wanting to build a model of the TBM Aven I’ve been wanting to build a model of the TBM Avenger for a while. It is a challenging dive due to conditions, current, depth (250 feet), etc. and doesn’t often get visitors. I had a few other attempts to build a model but none worked out the way I wanted. I finally got the right situation and completed the model. Cessna 414 N414BA was listed as "missing" for 3 months after the crash on 8 Jun 2025 and it is now found as of 16 Sep 2025. We have located and positively identified the wreck and have been in contact with the USCG, NTSB, and the family of the four that perished along with the pilot and his wife. It has been a week filled with mixed emotions for all of us.
